Google Chrome for Mac, Windows, and Linux has reached version 31, bringing the features we saw in the Chrome beta. In this update you’ll find portable native code for developers, security fixes, and support for web payments. To update Chrome, you can either wait for update to be pushed or you can download it from the links below.
The most interesting feature in Chrome 31 is web payments, which allows users to fill out online forms with just a tap or click. If you’ve stored your payment details inside Chrome, it will recognize when a site is requesting payment information and will give you the option to use a saved credit card. Chrome for Android, Windows, and Chrome OS all have this feature but Mac users will have to wait for a “future release.”
On the Android side of things, Chrome 31 (update coming soon), will feature application shortcuts and bug fixes. Application shortcuts will allow users to pin web apps to their Android launcher for quick access. Users will be able to rename the web app before pinning it. Sites that are designed as mobile web apps will open up in full screen, getting rid of the Chrome omnibox for full screen experience.
