Titanfall will get three DLC packs this year, entitled ‘Drop Pods‘. The packs will be released in Spring, Summer and Fall, each at $9.99. There is also a Season Pass, which offers all DLC and can be bought through EA’s Origin app.

EA has also launched a promotional website of classic arcade games made ‘better with a Titan’. Titans are the huge robots that feature in the game, and as you’ll see when they are added to Asteroids, the odds are severely stacked against the asteroids. Check them out here.

Titanfall is an online multiplayer first person shooter, and is released on March 11th (13th in EU) on PC and Xbox One. We know from leaked images that at launch there will be 15 maps to play on, and some details about what you’ll find in them (like zip-lines and anti-mech guns).

We played the beta in February, and you can read our analysis here. While its sci-fi setting is hardly original, its blend of huge, hulking mechs and soldiers who move with the agility of parkour runners does make the game pretty unique. Its maps are excellently designed and it’s a lot of fun to play.

The only worry about Titanfall is whether it can survive on multiplayer fun alone; Call of Duty and Battlefield‘s single player campaigns have increasingly been seen as secondary to their multiplayer modes, but Titanfall is making a leap of faith in doing away with single player altogether.
