google keyboardWhen Android 4.2 was announced, one of its killer features was its gesture keyboard. Today, Google has made the stock Android 4.2 available to in the Play Store, separating this core component from the operating system. This means devices running older versions of Android (you’ll still need Android 4.0 or higher) can install this keyboard.

This is great for users who prefer a stock Android keyboard instead of the modified ones that come pre-installed on phones, like the Galaxy S4. The keyboard for Android 4.2 is solid, offering great text predictions and swipe gesture typing. The stock keyboard offers an accurate, responsive, and free typing experience. It also learns how you type, so don’t be alarmed when you get a warning letting you know that typing is being tracked.
