The new father of late night, Jimmy Fallon, made his debut on NBC’s The Tonight Show last night, launching companion apps for iOS and Android. Along with bringing a fresh young face to the table, the mobile apps will help bring even more youth to one of the oldest late night TV shows on broadcast television.

The app creates a more immersive experience for viewers, with the ability to tweet directly from the app, as well as a live stream of top rated tweets and hashtags being updated during the show. You can also submit videos for Jimmy’s Video Challenge, check out the featured clips of the day, and see upcoming guests on the show.

The app’s also got some surprise features you may not expect, like Jimmy’s Arcade ,which features four quirky retro-style games including Jimmy Ski, Jimmy Match, Jimmy Quest, and– the icing on the cake– Jimmy Puppy Pickup.

The app comes amidst the growing popularity of social TV apps like tvtag (formerly GetGlue), which lets viewers share the viewing experience by talking about shows via their smartphones, in real-time. People will inevitably be talking about the new Tonight Show, so it makes sense that NBC would create their own mobile platform for users to interact about their content.
