Flipboard began as an app for the iPad but was then released for Android and iOS devices. Today, the online magazine and newsreader comes to the web. This release only allows users to view user-created magazines at the moment but there are plans to bring the full Flipboard experience to the web.

If you’re a mobile Flipboard user, you’ll feel right at home with the new Flipboard for web interface. There are a a bunch of magazines that you can browse through and they work just like they would on a mobile device. The page flip animation that Flipboard is known for is retained in the web version. Animations are quick and offers a nice visual flair when navigating the website’s interface.

Unfortunately, there are no features beyond browsing magazines like account integration or even search. You’ll find that magazines are sorted by different categories but there’s no search bar to quickly find a topic of interest. Still, the core experience of browsing and reading user-curated magazines is very good. Tons of content links out to other sites where you can read the full story so don’t expect things to stay within the Flipboard web interface.

Flipboard for the web works with any modern browser that supports HTML5. To check it out, click on the source link below.
