Plants vs. Zombies started life as a PC and Mac game, released in 2009. In 2010, the game made its way on to iOS and exploded in popularity. It’s been three years without a sequel to the massively popular game so what’s the deal? PopCap shows its self-deprecating humor by creating a teaser that features people asking why the sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is taking so long. Check it out.
PopCap also released two short teaser trailers showing new gameplay elements from the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies 2. The same tower defense gameplay is still there but there seems to be much more variety. We’re shown brief glances at new plants and new zombies. There are pirate zombies!
There’s no information about which platforms Plants vs. Zombies 2 is coming to but you can be sure it’ll make it on iOS and Android. The game will be released July 2013 so you won’t have to wait long at all to find out.
