Google’s latest Chrome update has brought with it a bit of a Trojan Horse to Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system: ChromeOS. Chrome 32 now has a “Metro” style UI that works and looks just like, for the most part, ChromeOS. The app will allow users to run multiple Chrome windows and Chrome apps within the same interface, mimicking the functionality of ChromeOS.
In addition to a Metro UI, Chrome 32 brings security improvements. Chrome’s automatic download blocking is more powerful than ever, stopping users from downloading infected files. Chrome 32 also improves on the parental features it debuted in its previous version by integrating a user manager within the browser. This feature is still being developed but is available as a beta preview. To access the user manager, visit chrome.com/manage.
Lastly, Chrome 32 helps users track down which tabs have access to your webcam, is casting to your Chromecast, or playing audio. Little icons at the top of each tab lets users quickly see the status of each tab.
Of course, there are a ton of security and performance updates in this update as well. Be sure to visit the source link for more information about the Chrome 32 update.
