Google released Android Device Manager back in August but only for the web. Today, Google released Android Device Manager for Android, letting users track and secure their devices using the app.

The app works similarly to Apple’s Find My iPhone app, which also lets you track, ring, lock, and remotely wipe your devices. If you misplace your phone, simply enable the ringer to find it. If your device is stolen, you can change the device PIN remotely as well as track its location. If you cannot recover your lost or stolen device, you can wipe the device to protect your data.

While the web app works just fine, having an app to track your devices on the go is very handy. You can even switch accounts to track different devices for different accounts.

Android Device Manager scales to different sized screens, including tablets, so the UI should adapt to every screen resolution. It’s also much snappier to use the Android app than the web version.

Be sure to check out our guide about how to recover your lost or stolen Android device using Android Device Manager.
