Did you ever imagine your Gangnam Style response video would win an award? Neither did we, but YouTube thinks differently, and you can now vote for that and others for the upcoming Music Awards.

The event will be held in New York on November 3rd, and you can vote for your favorite videos in the following categories:

  • Video of the year
  • Artist of the year
  • YouTube phenomenon of the Year
  • Inovation of the Year
  • YouTube Breakthough
  • Response video of the Year

The nominees have been picked using YouTube data between September 2012 and August 2013. Shares, comments, likes and other metrics were used, but it will be user votes that are the decider for the winners. The YouTube Music Awards are obviously a competitor to established ceremonies like the MTV video awards, and the list of artist nominees is pretty similar, with Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Rihanna and others featuring.

You vote for your favorites by sharing them on Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blogger, Tumblr etc). Find out more at the YouTube Music Awards homepage.
