Beta sign up is open for Titanfall, the upcoming first person shooter from EA and developer Respawn Entertainment. To register, you have to sign up for the Titanfall newsletter, and choose your platform (PC or Xbox One). EA will notify successful entrants by 11:59 PM PST on February 17th. The beta testing starts on February 14th. Sign up here.

EA has also released a new trailer to celebrate the launch of the beta, which you can watch below. We know the beta testing phase will be large scale, as EA will want to make sure its servers are sufficiently stress tested, but it has not announced how many players will be invited. 2013 was a terrible year for EA online launches, with both SimCity and Battlefield 4 being plagued with difficulties that cause an avalanche of bad headlines and publicity. It will want to get Titanfall right.

While the beta is for PC and Xbox One, as we have reported before there will be no cross platform play. We’ll see lots of gameplay videos soon, as the beta test apparently has no NDA and players will be free to post gameplay publicly. We should also find out whether the controller-assist for PC causes as many problems as some player fear.

If you don’t get access to the beta, there is not too long to wait for the official release of the game on March 13th.
