In the Windows 10 Technical Preview, which you can read all about here, there’s a new Share button in File Explorer.

The Share button allows you to easily share selected files, like photos, with other apps you have installed. You can share photos directly to Facebook or Twitter for example, if you have those apps. The share feature exists in Windows 8.1 now, but isn’t available from File Explorer.

Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc explained in a blog post how this feature is still in development, and implementation of it is still in its early stages. NeoWin reports that indeed, the Share button doesn’t always work at the moment. This will improve as Windows 10 Technical Preview is updated.

The Windows 10 Technical Preview is a beta version of Microsoft’s next operating system. It’s free to download and test, but not recommended for your primary computer as it’s incomplete, may be buggy, and also only lasts until April 15th 2015. After that date, you’ll either have to downgrade to your current version of Windows, or upgrade to Windows 10.
