The multi-platform messaging platform, Viber, arrives on Windows 8.1 today. The app will allow users to make HD voice calls and text other Viber users for free. The app also has support for voice messages, which are shown inline with your text conversations. Viber for Windows 8.1 also support handing off calls from mobile so you can switch devices in the middle of a call without disconnecting.
As with most other messaging apps, Viber allows users to send photos, stickers, and location, making finding your friends easy. As with other Windows 8 apps, Viber can be snapped to part of your screen so you can multitask with other applications.
Additionally, users can pin their favorite Viber conversations to the Start menu for quick access.
Viber for desktop has been out since May of this year but Viber for Windows 8.1 is the first “Windows 8-style” app from the company.
