The Sims 4 has been confirmed for this year’s E3 conference in LA. EA will be showing off the next installment in the huge franchise, and is promising lots of new details.
The confirmation came from The Sims 4 Executive Producer Rachel Franklin:
Hey Simmers. Confirming all the rumors. Yes, The Sims 4 will be at E3.

Franklin went on to say ‘we have so much to show’ at E3, but did not say if that would be more trailers, presentations or playable demos.
EA has learned from the lessons of SimCity: we already know that The Sims 4 will not require an internet connection to play after installation, and will be a single player game.
SimCity was released in Spring 2013, required a constant internet connection to play, and was focussed on multiplayer games. Neither of these was popular with fans, and with developer Maxis, EA backtracked eventually so you can now play alone and offline.
The Sims 4 is due for release on PC and Mac in late 2014, with console versions likely to follow in 2015.
