In a blog post released today, Electronic Arts, revealed that Maxis is currently working on The Sim 4 for a release sometime in 2014.

The blog post is brief only doesn’t give any details about the game, though they go on to say that “The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world. Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most successful simulation game that has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide.”

The Sims 4 will be the follow up to The Sims 3, which was released in 2009. While The Sims 3 was available on consoles as well as Macs and PCs, there’s no indication whether or not The Sims 4 will be coming to consoles this time.

The company says more information will be revealed about the game later in the day so stay tuned for more information at the source link below. We’ll update this post with more information when we receive it.
