Valve has redesigned its Steam app Storefront to make it more personalized and easier to discover new games.
The new Home Page gives you personalized recommendations based on your gaming history, reviews from ‘Curators’, and new search/discovery tools.
Steam is a platform for buying and playing PC, Mac and Linux games. Its Home Page is what you see when you first open the app. The design has been similar for quite a long time, and this is the first time Valve has made it responsive to users.
Below the big featured games window, there are now New on Steam and Recently Updated streams, which you can customize, choosing whether to include Early Access previews, Games in your account, and software. You also get recommendations of games similar to those you are playing.
Further down the Home Page there’s the Queue, which shows you new, popular and top selling games on Steam. Next you have Steam Curators – these are users/organizations who write reviews of games for the Steam forums, and you can now see their recommendations on the Home Page. You can also become a curator by making recommendations to Steam Community Groups.
Search can now be done by name, tag or description, and there are more filtering options for results.
Download Steam for Windows and Mac.
