Microsoft debuted Skype for Outlook.com in August 2013 but only to the six countries. Today, Skype for Outlook.com is available worldwide.
Users will need to install a browser plug-in to get the feature to work. Afterward, you can use Skype from within Outlook.com without a need to download the Skype desktop client.
The latest version of the Skype for Outlook.com plug-in now supports Safari for Mac.
Microsoft also fixed an annoying issue where Skype calls would continue ringing in Outlook.com even after the call was picked up with the Skype desktop app.
