Skype for iOS has been updated to version 5.4, now supporting group calls for up to four people.
Whoever you’re calling from your iOS device, regardless of whether it’s an audio or video call, you can now add up to two more people to your conversation, turning it into a group voice call. Currently, this feature isn’t available on Android, but Android Skype users can be added to iOS group calls. A new ‘Add people’ button now appears when you are Skyping, and tapping it allows you to search your contacts to add more people.
As well as group audio calls, Skype messages can now be read from anywhere in the app, and message reliability has been improved. Alongside the recent cleaning up of Skype notifications, this should make it a more useful messaging app. You can also now delete recent conversations with the VoiceOver rotor.
