Facebook finally arrives on Windows 8.1, which debuted today. Microsoft first teased the official Facebook for Windows 8 application at the company’s Build 2013 conference in June.

Facebook for Windows looks and feels like the web interface, with a column for different sections on the left and a column for chat on the right. Your news feed shows up in the middle. The app is also fully integrated into Windows’ search feature so you can look up your friends quickly from the Search Charm.

If you’re a Facebook user, the app should feel immediately familiar as it takes cues from Facebook’s various other mobile apps. There are notification icons at the top for your friend requests, messages, and notifications. The profile view features large buttons to quickly post a status update, photo, or check in.

You can find the Facebook Windows app in the Windows Store or you can download it right here on Softonic. The app will require the Windows 8.1 update so make sure you’ve updated your system before trying to download the app.
