If you’re a Chrome-using Microsoft Office fan, the great news is Office Online is now available from the Chrome Web Store. It’s free to download, and means you can launch most of the apps quickly from your browser, except Excel, which is coming soon.

Office Online has also been updated with new features. Excel Online now allows you to add, edit and delete comments on spreadsheets. OneNote Online now lets you print notes, and PowerPoint Online has an improved text editor, while Word Online has better footnotes and list creation.

The ‘Tell Me’ feature in Word has now been added to Excel Online too. This means you can ask Excel how to do something if you’re not sure.

From the Chrome Web Store you can now get Word Online, PowerPoint Online and OneNote Online for the Chrome App Launcher. This means you can open the online apps with a click on your desktop. Microsoft say Excel will be added soon.
