Apple’s next version of iOS is now available to developers. iOS 7.1 beta 3 doesn’t change anything dramatically but users can look forward to a slightly changed interface and a slew of bug fixes.
In terms of design, the operating system maintains its flat, cartoonish looks. The dialer and power off screen feature new, round buttons instead of rectangles in the current version of iOS. The power slider is now translucent instead of red.
Users who get motion sickness from Apple’s parallax effect can now disable motion while setting new wallpapers. There is a small button to toggle Motion above the “Cancel” and “Set” buttons.
The keyboard also gets a visual update with light gray and white hues throughout instead of the dark gray found on the current keyboard. The keyboard also features bolder text, making it easier to read. The layout hasn’t changed.
