Google rolled out an update to the Google Play store on Android devices last week, version 4.3.10, but many users are reporting getting a “Package File Invalid” error when trying to download or update apps. The company has been quiet about the error until now.

In a Google Support page, #10230007, the company has acknowledged the existence of the error and is actively working on a fix for it. Here’s what the page says:

“We’ve received reports that some users are getting “Package File Invalid” while trying to download or update apps.

We’re currently investigating a permanent solution, and there are no workarounds at this time.

We’ll continue to update this page with developments, so check back soon.”
