Today marks the first birthday of Google Play, the company’s app marketplace for its Android operating system. Previously known as Android Market, Google consolidated all of its media offerings under the Google Play name.

To celebrate Google Play’s birthday, Google is offering a bunch of deals and discounts on media, services, and apps. Notable deals include a $15 gift card when you buy something with the Fancy app, free music in the form of The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane” track, and a free pilot of the show, Breaking Bad. The celebrations will continue for a week so keep checking Google Play for new deals.

Google just celebrated 25 billion app downloads last week and the app store now has over 800,000 applications available, which is neck and neck with Apple’s App Store for iOS. Hit up the source link for today’s deals.
