It’s been four months since Google showed off its Google Maps Preview at the company’s I/O 2013 conference. Not much has happened to Google Maps until today. The search giant has updated Google Maps to include directions for multiple destinations as well as displaying upcoming events at venues.

Google Maps gets directions for multiple destinations

On the web, there’s now a “+” button that you can press on to add multiple destinations. Adding two or more points will let Google Maps optimize your trip, which is especially handy if you’re traveling. There’s even a “Views” carousel at the bottom of the search results to show photographs of your destinations to get a better sense of what they look like. The new feature supports directions for walking, biking, and driving.

Google Maps has also been updated to work across platforms. When you do a search in Google Maps on the web, your search results will show up in your history on your phone running Google Maps. Maps will also pull up your flight, hotel, and restaurant reservation information, similar to what Google Now is already doing. If you search for your airport, your flight information will be pulled up automatically. This info is available to you only.

The updated Google Maps is rolling out to US users now and is available in English only at this time.
