Google’s email service is finally getting suggested calendar events. Gmail will now automatically suggest adding events to your Google Calendar if it detects a date and time.

This is a feature that Apple’s Mail app has had for a while and it’s nice to finally see it in a webmail client like Gmail. Scheduling by email should be a lot easier now as Gmail will pick up on language that references events. Dates and times will be highlighted and clicking on the highlighted section will bring up a Google Calendar preview box. You can change the title, date, or time of the event and click “Add to Calendar” when you’re ready.

The feature will be rolling out slowly to all English (US) versions of Gmail over the next week. More languages will be added eventually, though Google doesn’t give any time frame.
