Activision has revealed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s multiplayer in a new trailer you can watch below. Developed by Sledghammer games, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the first truly next generation game in the long running series. It has the job of shaking up what has become a little stale since last years’ Call of Duty: Ghosts.

While single player campaigns often make headlines – as with the infamous ‘No Russian’ terrorist level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – it’s the multiplayer modes that keep gamers playing. With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Sledgehammer is introducing futuristic exoskeletons, which give you some cool new powers.

The most obvious exoskeleton power is boost, which you can use like a double jump to dodge in mid air or do a power slam into the floor (or another soldier). This makes Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer more like Titanfall or Tribes: Ascend – indeed, exoskeletons are really only a new thing to Call of Duty. They’ve been around a long time in other games.

Other powers you get with the exoskeleton are ‘overclock’, which gives you a speed boost, ‘shield’ , which creates a temporary shield, ‘cloak’, which makes you nearly invisible, and the ability to hover, among others. All of these powers drain your exoskeleton’s batteries though, which means they cannot be used indefinitely. As you can see from the trailer, all of this makes multiplayer in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare very fast and much more ‘vertical’.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due for release on November 4th, but you can expect much more news about the sci-fi shooter before then.
