Microsoft and Laplink have collaborated to bring the free PCmover Express program to Windows XP users. PCmover Express allows XP users to easily transfer over the files to newer versions of Windows. Support for Windows XP is ending April 8th and Microsoft wants to make upgrading to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 a breeze.
With PCmover express, you’ll be able to transfer files like MP3s, videos, emails, and system profiles to a new Windows computer. The program gives users control over exactly what they want to migrate to the new system. Unfortunately, PCmover Express doesn’t transfer installed programs. However, Laplink does offer PCmover Professional for XP users, which can migrate programs. Windows XP users can buy the program for a discount.
PCmover Express currently supports English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Support for Korean, Chinese, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese will be available later in March.
