Facebook is rolling out a new system that allows you to block content from particular sites. Currently you can Hide, Report/Mark as Spam or Get Notifications for posts on Facebook, but you’ll soon be able to also choose to Hide All From X (name of site).

Sharing stories is increasingly important on Facebook, and Mark Zuckerberg wants it to become a place where people get their news. Giving people more control over what they see in the news feed therefore makes sense. But being able to block all content from a particular site could have big implications for those that rely on Facebook shares.

Maybe spammy, linkbait headlines that disappoint once clicked will result in users blocking that site. Either way, if there’s a site your Facebook friends share that infuriates you, you should soon be able to hide that content without missing everything they post.

This was first reported by onthemedia.org, and has not yet been confirmed by Facebook. It has not rolled out everywhere, and we have reached out to Facebook for comment on whether this is going to be a universal feature, or just something it is testing.
