Get ready to see ads in your Instagram feed. Facebook will begin monetizing its photo and video sharing service by placing ads within users’ feeds.

“Our aim is to make any advertisements you see feel as natural to Instagram as the photos and videos many of you already enjoy from your favorite brands,” says a blog post on Instagram. The team vows to make ads relevant, high-quality and unobtrusive.

Instagram is going to give users some control over what ads they see by letting users hide and provide feedback about ads. The company will rely on user feedback to improve Instagram’s ad experience. The company also states that the content you create will always be your own. “As always, you own your own photos and videos. The introduction of advertising won’t change this,” writes Instagram.

The roll out of ads in Instagram will be slow as the company obtains feedback from users. There’s no timeline beyond “the next couple of months” for the roll out of advertising.
