facebook messenger icon iOSFacebook Messenger for iOS is getting a few minor updates today. Previously, stickers were available in the Facebook app for iOS but today Messenger will get the cute animal stickers. Swipe to delete a conversation is also back, due to popular demand.

To access stickers, simply tap on the smiley face in the text entry field. There are a couple types of stickers installed by default but you can download more stickers by tapping on the basket icon. Users can also swipe left or right to delete a conversation in the list of conversations.

Missing in this update are Chat Heads, though it makes sense since the Facebook for iOS app includes the functionality. With Chat Heads, users can browse Facebook with a non-obtrusive overlay for easy multitasking. Facebook Messenger doesn’t really need this since you’ll be exclusively chatting in that app anyway.

It seems just about everyone is getting into the sticker game. Viber was released for PC and Mac earlier today with support for stickers. Path, the social network for close friends and family, also includes stickers. It shouldn’t come as a surprise as many US based companies are trying to cash in on stickers with the success of Asian apps messaging apps like LINE and Kakaotalk.
