Oracle, the developers of Java, issued an update with fixes for over 113 vulnerabilities for over 100 of its products. Eight of the updates are marked as critical and the company is urging users to update as soon as possible.
The updates patch a bug where attackers can remotely take control of your computer without any authentication. This means your computer could be hacked without the need for your username or password.
Oracle hasn’t detected any use of the vulnerability but users should install the update to make sure their systems remain secure.
The updates cover both version 7 and 8 of Java. If you don’t know which version of Java you have, you can check at Oracle’s site.
