cinemagram iconAt the beginning of the year, Twitter announced its Vine app and service for iOS users. Vine lets users share 6 second short videos. The app has since grown in popularity with many users telling short stories with their 6 second video creations. Unfortunately Android users are left out as Twitter has not released an Android version. The app, Cinemagram, beat Twitter to the punch and released an Android version of its video sharing app.

Cinemagram has been available on iOS since February of last year and now Android users can join the fun. Since Cinemagram has been around for over a year, there is already a ton of content. Users can follow and invite their friends, view an activity feed, discover new content, and edit their profiles from within the app. There is integration with Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to make sharing to other social networks a breeze.

Recording video works similarly to Vine. Users will have 4 seconds instead of 6 to record video. What’s interesting are all of the options users have to edit the video clip before sharing. You can loop, reverse, add filters, or “mask” which areas you want to animate. There are really creative “cines” on the service and it shows how creative people can be with just 4 seconds of video. Here’s one created by our editor, Chris.
