chrome fullscreenGoogle is on a roll with its Android app updates today. Drive for Android was updated earlier today with a new layout and document scanner and now there’s a new update for Chrome. The browser will get a fullscreen browsing experience on phones and tab history on tablets. While these updates aren’t groundbreaking, they make Chrome an even better mobile browser.

Most users won’t even notice the fullscreen feature since it’s very subtle. When a web page loads and you scroll down, the omnibox will disappear. It’s not a true fullscreen experience as the notification bar still sits up top but it does maximize viewable space. Tablet users can look forward to the tab history feature which lets you long-press the back button to view a history of pages you’ve visited. It’s curious that Google omitted this feature on phones but space constrains may have hindered the user experience.

Last but not least, the update brings “a ton of stability and performance fixes.” You can get the update in the download link below.
