BlackBerry 10.1 rolling out to Z10 this month

BlackBerry’s Live conference is today and the company has announced that the BlackBerry 10.1 update will start rolling out to Z10 devices today. Version 10.1 made its debut, shipping on the BlackBerry Q10. The update will include more customization for notifications, HDR photos, PIN-to-PIN messaging in BlackBerry Hub, universal search actions, performance improvements, and bugfixes. Additionally, users will be able to paste phone numbers into the dialer now.

BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins took time on stage to provide and update on the BlackBerry app catalog. The store now features over 120,000 apps available for download. Notable apps that have been added include Skype, SoundHound, Bloomberg Hub, and iHeartRadio.

International carriers will be getting the new update by the end of the week while US carriers will have to wait until the end of May to begin distributing the update.
