DICE has released the minimum and recommended PC specs for its upcoming Battlefield 4. As we’ve seen from all the gameplay and trailers, the new Frostbite 3 engine is really impressive, and you’ll need at least 4GB of RAM to run the game on its lowest settings.
To get the most out of Battlefield 4, you’ll need 8 GB of RAM and 3GB of graphics memory, which is pretty hefty. DICE is recommending 64-bit Windows 8 systems, but you can use Vista as was the case with Battlefield 3. Whereas the last game required 15GB of hard disk space, Battlefield 4 needs an impressive 30GB.
EA is really pushing Battlefield, and Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts is looking a little flat in comparison. The multiplayer games in Battlefield 4 are looking genuinely next-gen, with incredible destructible environments and really fast, dynamic gameplay. Call of Duty is such a huge brand, it’s tough to call who will win the sales wars, but as we saw at E3, it seems Activision’s game is resting on its laurels somewhat.
