iRadio, the long rumored streaming music service from Apple could be a step closer to reality after it reportedly signed a deal with Warner Music. This leaves only Sony Music needed to complete agreements with the big three of music publishing. It could be officially announced at next week’s World Wide Developers Conference.

The deal makes it more likely that Apple is close to announcing a streaming music service like Pandora, Spotify or Google Music. The ‘iRadio’ name is just a rumor, and it’s easy to imagine the service being part of iTunes, which would allow for quick purchase of songs you like from the store. It’s likely iRadio will include audio advertising like Pandora and the free Spotify service and rumors about the service suggest some features not seen in Pandora, like the ability to rewind songs.

With 500 million iTunes accounts, there is a huge potential user base for any Apple streaming service. The excellent integration of iTunes and iOS could make iRadio a serious threat to Spotify and other iOS streaming apps.

Will this be the big new feature in iOS 7?
