Apple has confirmed an event for September 9th, where we expect to see the iPhone 6 and a wearable device announced, as well as iOS 8, the next version of its mobile operating system.

iOS 8 will introduce the Health app, which will monitor your health and fitness, and is very likely to be closely integrated with the expected wearable device (iWatch?).

While iOS 7 was notable mainly for its radical design overhaul, iOS 8 is all about adding new features and integrating better with other Apple products. It will work closely with Mac OS X, meaning you’ll be able to answer calls from your Mac, if you have an iPhone with iOS 8. It will also launch Family Sharing, so up to six people can share iTunes, iBooks, App libraries and more.

Following previous years, we expect iOS 8 to be made available for everyone shortly after the Apple event. We already know that it will be compatible with iPhone 4S and later, iPod Touch 5th generation, and iPad 2 and later.
