One thing’s for sure – everyone’s favorite feathered friends sure do get around. Angry Birds has been to Brazil and even outer space. They’ve also celebrated various holidays in Seasons. They’ve even shown up on Facebook and pitted you against your friends like the rabble-rousers they are.

This time around, the birds take toFormula 1 racing and the fun takes place in your browser with Angry Birds Heikki, aptly named in honor of Rovio’s fellow Finlander, race driver Heikki Kovalainen. In terms of gameplay functionality, nothing much has changed in Angry Birds Heikki. You can just settle back into your bird-flinging strategizing and attempt to knock over structures to take down the swine being harbored within. Instead of your typical blocks of wood and ice though, Angry Birds Heikki has racing-specific accoutrements like tires. The scoreboard is also a nice, bright red, and the background setting is appropriately recognizable as a racetrack.

While Angry Birds Heikki isn’t as integrated with social networks as its Angry Birds Facebook counterpart, you can still share a link to the game on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. There’s also a special power-up that can help you get through particularly tricky levels, called Heikki Power. You can find the special code used to access the power-up on Heikki’s official Facebook fan page.

Currently, there are very few levels to actually play, although the ones available are quite challenging and will likely take some time to get through, even if you’re a total Angry Birds maven. Other levels will be unlocked on dates that coincide with actual Formula 1 races, presumably to build anticipation through to the end of November.

Angry Birds Heikki also requires you to register, and will ask for your email, a password, and the nickname you’d like to play under before you can get started.
